Best performance of the frog dance is an abbreviated version of much longer, match more involved the story of the Gods sacrifice of one self for others, loyalty, constancy and perseverance. The story begins in the forest in which the tiger, monkeys and other wild animal live. King Raden Inu Kertapati comes to the forest looking for something to eat as things have gone very badly for him and he is starving, but only thing he can find to eat are dragonflies, not a usual food for King. The God Siwa sees the king hunting dragonflies an is very annoyed. “Dragonflies are food for frogs not kings” he says, and put a spell on the King, turning him into a Frog. Than the Siwa leaves forgetting all about the king and his unhappy fate.

The poor King, now a frog. Wonders in the forest bemoaning his fate, remembering that when he was human he was engaged to be married to the princess Raden Galuh. He is very sad that now he’s frog, as he’s sure no princess would want a frog for her husband. But he is wrong, for when he meets The Princess in the forest she recognize the frog by his kingly gesture and innate Goodness as he betrothed and tells him, she is happy to accept him as he husband. The king is thankful that the good Princess wants him for her husband but laments that he is too ugly for he and ashamed of this froggy looks goes off by himself to ask Siwa to take back the speel and restore him to his human form. When after a long time he meets Siwa. Siwa attacks him and tries to eat him thinking the frog is food; having forgotten all about the he himself had turned the king into a frog. Suddenly Siwa remembers and feeling bad, returns the frog to his original handsome human self. The princess when she sees the man is snooked. She thought she was to be married to a frog and isn’t that the man who says he is her husband to be is the correct bridegroom. Siwa returned to them carrying the frog face the king had worn and the princess is convinced that the man who stand before her is her own true love and she accepts him with love.
